relationships

Relationships are weird...sometimes you can predict them from a mile away, other times the people you would never expect to get together do. There are those annoying couples who are all lovey-dovey and then there are the ones that you love to be around because they are that fun. There are those relationships where you just know those people are destined to be together, then there are ones that people just need to end. There are ones when they know everything about eachother. They can tell what the other one is thinking without even saying a word. They can tell how the other is feeling from "hello" But then something happens to some relationships. Sometimes, they just fall apart. Circumstances tear people apart. Even the ones that are destined to be together sometimes don't make it. It's weird when that relationship is over...do they be friends, or ignore eachother? Do they still call one another or just let it be? Do they wait around to see if anything will happen, or do they just move on? Do they still love eachother and care for eachother, or are the feelings gone? What if they are supposed to be together, but end up with someone else? Were they really not meant for eachother, or can more than one person be right for someone? I don't think these questions really have answers...just thinking about relationships and how you never really know what is going to happen in one. I guess that is the risk you take. But once you've taken it and your heart has been broken, should that risk be taken again? At what price do people take that risk?

People tell me that school doesn't matter, but it really does. Yeah, in twenty years I'm not going to care whether I got an A or a C. Now I do, though. It does matter now. People stress getting good grades and taking the right classes. If you don't, you won't get into a good college. If I don't get good grades...I can go to CVCC and pull them up, but I don't want to. I want to leave home and be on my own for a while and live somewhere else. I want to experience something new where nobody knows anything except for what I tell them. Grades and school might not matter, but I care about them and they still mean something. Maybe I care too much...

    <lj:music>Ryan and Will talking</lj:music>

Okay, It's been forever since I've updated and I really would like to start up again but it's not happening right now. We are supposed to be researching my french project right now, but I really don't feel like it. First of all, it's seventh period on a Friday and you really think I want to be doing work right now? Second of all, Ginny and I are doing the same thing and we are going to get together and work on the project together. Anwyay, Ryan wants me to put his name in here, so there you go.

Now that I got that out of the way...life has been rather dull lately, at least my life has. Everyone else seems to have something exciting going on, while I'm just kind of stuck here watching everyone else having a good time. It's really starting to get old, but I'm trying my hardest to be in good spirits.

Cheerleading is going well though and I'm glad I'm doing it. A lot of people were surprised when I told them I was doing it, and I'm not sure why. It was discouraging, though, but I'm over it now. I just hope they see how much I'm enjoying it and maybe they would support me now. I'm not exactly sure why I did it, maybe just to do something different, maybe to get out of the house more, maybe to meet new people, but who knows.

Okay, time for Melanie to cheer up. It's a Friday for gosh sakes, but then again it's not going to be much of a weekend. I have so much homework to do it's ridiculous, so that's going to take up all of my free time, not to mention I have a game tonight and practice tomorrow and other stuff to do. About the game, it's kind of weird because I don't know the movements for the cheers at all, but yet I'm still not nervous. I would normally get really nervous about this, but for some reason I'm not. I don't even really care that much. It's going to be interesting, thoguh so wish me luck! Jason and his girlfriend, Ashley, are coming down tonight and tomorrow. they are coming to my game too. It will be very interesting to finally meet her, I've heard a lot about her. I know he really likes her though, so I'm looking forward to it. It's still kind of sucks because I've taken second place to his girlfriend, but it's just something that comes along with it I guess. I'm getting used to it though.

Well, class is almost over and it's time to go make a face, go to mrpicassohead.com and you will understand what I'm talking about. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great Friday and remember to think of me at the game! I will really try to update more often.
♥ Melanie

Okay, it's been way too long since I've updated! My apologies. I hope everyone is having an awesome summer. Mine's been pretty good so far. I haven't done overly much, but it's been good.

We just recently went to Maine, which was awesome. We really didn't do a whole lot there, we just pretty much stayed at our cabin and relaxed. It was so good to just get away from everything for a week and just hang out and just do what we felt like doing. But, it's always good to be back :)

I've started babysitting this little girl from my church, Anna, regularly. She is really cute, I really enjoy babysitting her. She's so good and easy to take care of. It's kind of nice hanging around little kids again, because they are so innocent and are just so unaware of how unfair the world can be. They have no idea what cruel things are out there. Soemtimes, I wish I could go back to that. To just be so carefree and not worry about anything or what people think of me or what I eat or what I look like, etc. It certainly does make you think!

Well, I got to go. I'm spending the day with my cousins. I hope everyone's doing well! Kelsey and Rebecca~I hope you're having awesome trips. Have a great day, guys!♥ Melanie

Well....it's been an exciting couple of days. Lol, not really. Was at Heather's pretty much all day on Saturday and that was a lot of fun.

We did the father's day thing yesterday, didn't go as well as I had hoped but it was still fun. We went to church and then we came back here. I read for a little while on the porch, which I love now that it's all clean, and then I took a little nap :) I must say that it's the best feeling to fall asleep outside and then wake up there too and feel the sun on your face and just the noises of outdoors.

Anyway, then we went to Caryl's for a father's day cookout. That was a lot of fun, did some good old family bonding. Talked to Caryl which was really good. I have missed her with school closing up and all and I look forward to spending time with her this summer. Adam and I stayed out there until about 11:30. We played cards and just had a good time.

Didn't do too much exciting today. Just laid around the house and watched some tv and read some. Then I went to Ginny's tonight. It was a lot of fun~we mainly just hung out and talked but still had a good time. I hope everyone is having an awesome summer! Please call me...we need to get together. I leave for maine on Saturday so we need to do it this week! Happy first day of summer everyone!
♥ Melanie

Sorry I haven't updated in a while...Havn't been up to too much. This week has been pretty laid back, which is awesome. I love just waking up and having nothing inparticular to do. What a great feeling.

Anyway, yesterday Wink & Caryl came over and helped me clean off the porch. That was good, it needed to be done, but it was also kind of hard. It brought back a lot of memories, but I'm just glad that it's all set now and we can use it. Then I headed on over to Caryl's to spend the night. I went with them to register Heather for JF, which was interesting. It's weird to see how different our high schools are...I wish she was going to Glass. Then we came back here and played some canasta which was fun, Heather and I won :) Then we ate dinner and watched Pirates of the Carribean, which was really good. I had never seen it before. Then we went to bed.

It looks like Caryl ad Savannah are challenging us to a canasta rematch, so I'm going to go. Hope everyone is having an awesome summer! we must get together this week.
♥ Melanie

Well, school's over now. I'm no longer a freshman, kind of weird to think about but i'm glad that summer is finally here! My acting exam went all right yesterday. The essay was pretty easy and my monlogue went okay. It didn't go as well as I had hoped, but oh well it's over with.

The math exam actually went really well. It was a lot better than I expected and I think I did pretty well. I'm almost positive I got what I needed to get an a in the class, so that's all that really matters. I hope everyone did well on their exams! I'm sure you all did a wonderful job. I hope those who didn't have school today are enjoying their first day of summer!

Well, I'm about to head of for New York. I'm so excited, we're leaving about 2:30 or so. It's going to be so much fun, I really can't wait. I love that city, when you're there it just puts you in this mood. I am always amazed when I go there, even though I haven't been that often, but it's just so different from any other city I've been to. I really hope I have a good time, and I'm sure I will. I better be going now, but I hope everyone has an awesome weekend!! Have fun at the sleepover tonight girls. I'll be thinking about you. I'll talk to you all when I get back!
Well, as you can tell by my title, today was a very long day. It started out with my english exam, which actually went pretty well. i think I did pretty well and I'm kind of sad that class is over. I really liked it and I learned a lot, probably the most I've ever learned in any of my english classes.

Then I took my french exam, which was quite a different story. It was pretty hard. I mean, the beginning was really easy but then I got to the grammer/verb section and I just couldn't comprehend it anymore. I just kind of gave up towards the end because I just couldn't think anymore. I was so mentally drained. I can't say I'm going to miss that class, in fact I'm glad to be out of it.

After my exams, I went over to Jessica's to watch "on the waterfont" and "Marty" Marty was a really cute movie and I really like it. It had such good acting, and it was obvious why he chose that one but i'm not so sure why he chose on the waterfront. It was an interesting movie, I'm not sure if I liked it or not, it was just kind of weird. I had fun though.

After that, I juts came home and ate dinner and feel asleep. I woke up about 9:30 and have just been hanging around. I don't feel too well right now, but hopefully i'll feel better in the morning. Since I only have a second exam tomorrow, I can sleep in a bit. If I can just make it through my monologue, i'll be fine. Well, I'm off to bed. i hope everyone's exams are going well!
Melanie

Hey! I'm trying to put studying off for as long as I can...Here's a recap of this week so far.

Monday~last full day of high school as freshman! School was pretty good, we didn't really do anything except review for exams. I got kicked off of acting on the last day, pretty funny. i also got in trouble because of the dress code. Way to go, wait until the last day to get into trouble. It was sad in some aspects, but not in more. I'm just so glad that this year is almost over. I can decide what I think about it...there have certainly been lots of changes and adjustments. It's had a lot of ups and downs, but I'm still not sure that I would change anything. Every dissapointment or rough time has made me learn something new, whether I realize it now or not. I'm still not sure whether I liked this year or not. Oh well, that's what the summer is for, to contimplate all these things :)

Today~not too bad. I had a health exam, which was so easy. I'm just glad to have one out of the way. Tomorrow's exams are going to suck though, but I'll just be so glad to have those two over with! Anyway, went to subway with Beau, Margot, Jessica, Ginny, and Kelsey. It was tres good(had to use french since the exam is tomorrow) Speaking of that, I should probable go study for it now. I hope everyone's exams went well today! Good luck studying tonight.
♥ Melanie

wow....yet again I really need to start updating more. Anyway, today was an good day, couldn't really keep my head up though considering I am so sleep deprived.

we go back to regular schedule tomorrow, it's going to be weird. I think I'll like it though because block scheduling is just getting old. The only thing is that I'll have so much work to do and I definitely don't feel like doing anymore stupid homework. The good thing is that school is almost over and I seriously can not wait. It's just going to be so great to be out of school and away from some of these people. It's weird to think that our freshmen year is almost over though...Glass is really nothing that I thought it would be.

Well, I got to go practice my monologue...it's going to suck tomorrow, but oh well.
Hey! The Relay for life was really fun, while it lasted. We had a great time just hanging out and walking for a while, but then a storm blew up and it was pretty bad, so we decided to leave. We went to the t-room and that was great fun. Now we're just hanging out at my house and Addie & ginny are asleep right now.

But anyway...the illuminaries were really nice tonight, they always are and I got a little emotional, but hey what else is new? It's just such a great cause and always a good time, I'm just sorry the weather wasn't too great tonight, but oh well.

This is pretty short...but I'm going to watch the rest of the movie. I hope everyone's have a great weekend so far!

Hey. It's friday :) I hope everyone had an awesome one. Mine was okay...nothing too special. I was actually in a really good mood in homeroom. All we did was watch this really long and boring movie, but I didn't watch it, just talked instead.

Then, health just sucked. I don't even know why...well, actually I do. Sometimes, it only takes on thing to bring you out of a good mood. And that sucks. So, think about what you say/do and how it's going to affect the people around you. Oh well, it was my fault for letting this thing bring m down. so you know what? I'm going to be in a good mood tonight! I can't wait :) I'm so excited, it should be a blast. Speaking of that...I've got to go make a cake for it. I hope everyone has an awesome weekend. I'll see some of you guys tonight! Yay.
Melanie :)

Hey...I really need to get back into updating this. It's been a while, but anyway. How is everyone doing? I hope everyone is having an awesome week. Mine's going pretty well, I'm so glad tomorrow is Friday though.

Today was a pretty good day. Was totally lost in french, but what else is new? Everyone should be very proud of me...lol, I got a 64 on my stupid french quiz, which is like the first thing I've failed all year. The great thing is that I could care less. Anyway, then took the science sol and it wasn't too bad. I thought it went pretty well, better then the world civ. one. Then I went to lunch, which was pretty fun because I had second lunch and I got to see Sam.

Then I went to drama, which was pretty interesting. I didn't really do anything but sit there and talk really with Jess and Addie. Then these two guys, don't really know who they are just came in and started talking to us. Great fun...I didn't get anywhere with my monologue, but oh well. It's totally going to suck.

Then Bridget took me, Addie, Sam, and Stephen to the dollar store. It was great fun having her read childrens stories to us in the middle of the aisle and then aerosmith came on. Then we went back to Addie's house and hung out for a while. It was great fun...Congrats to Addie and Stephen :) I'm happy for you both. Congrats to Nathan and Rebecca too. Love must just be in the air or something...lol.

Well, I'm off to do some more reading in lord of the flies, it's a weird book. Tomorrow's Relay for Life :) It should be lots of fun. I hope everyone has an awesome Friday
♥ Melanie

Well, today was actually a pretty good day. I'm so glad it's Friday...and Matt graduates tomorrow :( It's going to be so sad. I can't believe it's tomorrow! It's really scary to think about him in the real world.

I didn't do too well on the math test...it wasn't too fun, but oh well. French kind of dragged on, but wasn't too bad. Science we really didn't do anything except watched two movies and play big bootie. That was pretty fun. I love that game, lol. Lunch was good. I like lunch this way so much better! I like it with different people, and now I get to see Kelsey, who I like never saw otherwise.

Drama was really fun. All we did was sit there and talk...mainly me, Addie, and Jessica the whole time. It was good to talk to you two guys! I miss the good old days...you guys are so great :) Addie, thanks for helping...I'm here for you too, girl. We'll both get through this, lol.

Well, I got to go get ready for Ginny's game! YAY Ginny. Good luck! I hope everyone has a great friday night, and please be safe.
Love you all!
Melanie :)

Hey. It's been a slow start to this week. Yesterday was an okay day...it was pretty much a typical Monday. I had a bunch of tests & quizzes because all the teachers wanted to test us before block scheduling started. We did our scene in acting yesterday, for the last time, and it actually went pretty well. I think we got a pretty good grade on it.

I came home and did most of my homework. Then, Ken picked me up and we went up to the stadium so he could see how good it looked since they redid it. That was a lot of fun...he talked about how it was when he was a little boy. We went up to the skyboxes, they were unlocked, and they were really nice. It looks so good, I was really impressed with it. I didn't pay all that much attention when we went to the game earlier on. Then I went on out to Wink & Grandad's and ate dinner. Then Kan & I went to Holden's t-ball game. It was the cutest thing ever. It was so funny because they had absolutly no clue what was going on. They all just kind of stood there. He did pretty well though. My dad came too and Caryl was there also. When we left, somehow Ken and Dad got on the subject of WWII and it was reallt interesting to listen to them. Of course, Dad had some stories from when Grandad, his dad, had told him about the war. It really was interesting to just sit back and listen to their stories, I love listening to people talk...I always have.

Anyway, today was an okay day. We started block scheduling, which was pretty interesting. It really wasn't too bad today, it's definitely my easy day. History was pretty fun and went by relatively quick. Health was fine, about as much fun as it could be. Lunch was great! So many people have that lunch :) It was so good to be back with all the dunbar crew, good times good times. English actually wasn't as bad as I thought it was...it was pretty long but I am actually starting to understand Romeo and Juliet! what a concept! Tomorrow is not going to be fun with block scheduling though, atleast I have acting last and Kelsey will be in my lunch tomorrow :)

I just came on home this afternoon then went to dinner with Wink, Grandad, and Ken. We all went to Silver Pig which was pretty good. Then we all went to Holden's play, which was the so cute and I was so proud of him. It made me think about when I have kids and I get to go to their little plays and stuff. I'm going to love being a mom. Anyway, he was a farmer and they did a few songs. He did pretty well, atleast he knew what it was doing. Now I'm just hangning out here. I'm going to go study for my french and math quiz tomorrow, fun stuff! I hope everyone had a good day and I hope chorus line went well for those people in it!
♥ Melanie

It's been way too long since I have updated, sorry. I really need to get back into the habit of writing every day, but I'll just have to work on that!

It has been such a long week. Nothing special happened either. I did turn in my research paper though, thank goodness! I'm just so glad it's finally friday, I know I don't have an eventful weekend, but I'm just glad I don't have school for two days. We start block scheduling next week....it's definitely going to be interesting. I'm not sure that I'm going to like it, but oh well. Taking SOL's won't be fun either, just more stress added to our lives! Exactly what we all need...

Anyway, today was an all right day, kind of long for a friday. It was so hot too, but I'm going to stop complaining right now. Ginny came over before her game and we just had a great time. Then I hung out here until I went to Ginny's game and had a good time. Ginny scored the only goal! YAY! Go Ginny :) It was Addie, me, and Kate watching...great time. Then we stayed for part of they boys. That was all right, just made me want a boyfriend seeing all the guys, lol I'm so pathetic. Then we went to La Caretta, which was great. I ate way too much, but oh well.

I'm going to go get ready for bed...I've got to be at church to help for the relay for life yeard sale at 6. Woo-hoo! I'm actually kind of looking forward to it. Then we've got a carwash. Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!!

    <lj:music>Simple Plan~Perfect</lj:music>

Hey! I hope everyone is having a great spring break~I know I sure am. I'll recap the past two days.

Yesterday~ got up and helped Savannah a bit with her room. We didn't get all that far, but we did a little. Then I just came on home and hung out for a bit. I went for a run and then ran into Bridget and we hung out for a good while. Then I headed on over to Ginny's for her sleepover. It was me, Ginny, Addie, Kelsey, Jessica, and Rebecca for a little while. It was great. It started out with a walk, which ended up us being chased by these laser stalker people. It was so funny because we never knew who they were but they knew exactly who we were because we are so smart to just yell out our names. I would still like to know who they were...Anyway, then we went inside and just pigged out for a while, lol what else are sleepovers for? Then we watched How To Loose A Guy in 10 Days, classic movie. It's so great. Then we talked for a while and eventually fell asleep at 4.

Today~I didn't sleep that well and woke up to say goodbye to Kelsey at 9, then fell back asleep until about 11. We watched Dawson's Creek, which is just so a great show...always puts me in a good mood. then I came home and took a shower, etc. and started reading a really good book. It's another one of my sad ones, but still an excellent book. Then Addie called me and we went on a walk. We made it all the way up the hill before we got interrupted by Bridget. We ended up just hanging out at her house for the afternoon, which was great. Then we went to Sheetz to get a slurpee and heard some great songs in the process...they were halrious. Bridget dropped us off at home and then I went on to Caryl's to eat dinner. Dad was in Blacksburg tonight for one of Jason's awards dinner thing. I ate dinner with them which was very good, Wink and Grandad were there too. Heather was out tonight, so she wasn't there. I then helped Savannah with her room. We actually got somewhere...we got pretty far, but still have a ways to go. I think I may go out there on sunday to finish and then maybe help start Holden's room.

Anyway...I'm off to bed. I'm really tired from todays activities and lack of sleep from last night. Good night!
♥ Melanie

Hey! I'll tell you about my day yesterday first before today. I didn't really do all that much. I cleaned up my room a bit, but didn't get all that much done. Then I came on over to Heather's house. I love it their new house! It's really nice. I helped her unpack her room until about 12:30...we got all of it done. It looks so good now, and it was a lot of fun. Caryl was so impressed that we got everything out of the boxes and put away. then we went to bed...we were so exhausted.

We got up this morning and went to Roanoke with Caryl, Heather, Savannah, and wink. we went to go shopping. I got really discouraged because i really didn't find anything. I tried on a bunch of things, but they just didn't seem to fit me. I got pretty frustrated. Then I finally found some shoes, which are pretty nice. I found a little sweater later on, but i still wasn't as lucky as I would have liked. It was crazy...we saw Mrs.womack there which was nice. then we came home and had to run into CVS really quickly and she was in there too! It was really weird. Anyway...I had a lot of fun today, but am pretty tired. I'm going to watch Mona Lisa smile with my cousins! I'm so lucky to have them, they're so awesome. I'm spending the night again tonight because Caryl wants me to do Savannah's room too. I hope everyone is having a great spring break.
♥ Melanie

Hey! Today was a great day. I went to charlottesville with Addie. we had a lot of fun. We were dropped off at Barricks Road shopping center pretty early and we ate breakfast before we began our shopping. Then we went to Old Navy and spent a good while there. We did most of our shopping there. Addie got a bunch of cute clothes and i like what I got too. Then we went into various stores, but nothing too special...goody's, bath & body works (got some great smelling lotion there, I highly recommend it), virginia store, then peace frogs store, Addie got a cute shirt there. Then we just went to quiznos and ate lunch. From there, we headed to Barnes and Noble and got out drinks and then just sat down and we both read books in one sitting. It was so great to just get lost in a book and pretend your someone else for a while...I should do that more often. Then we grabbed some ice cream and went back to Barnes and Noble.

Then we headed home and went back to her house for a while. We watched finding Nemo :) Very very cute movie, first time I had ever seen it. Now I'm back at home and I'm pretty tired. All that shopping wore me out...lol I hope everyone is having a great spring break. I know I am so far!
♥ Melanie

Sorry I didn't write yesterday...Yesterday was an okay day. It wasn't all that great though. School was school and then I came home and definitely took a two hour nap. I couldn't believe it when I woke up that I had slept for two hours. It was good to just be able to sleep. but then I had to get up and do homework. That's always fun.

Today was a pretty good day. School wasn't too bad...no tests or quizzes or anything. So it was a relatively easy day. Came home and took another nap...lol this one was only like an hour though. I don't know what's up with me all the sudden. I never used to take naps, I guess I haven't been sleeping all that well recently. Oh well. then I just got up and studied for french a little bit.

Dad and I went to his bank to put fertilizer down. I got to enjoy a beautiful sunset while I was sitting there. Then we went to Vito's for dinner and then went to DQ for some ice cream. Like everything there is chocolate, but in three more days I can eat chocolate! I can't wait for spring break. Only two more days....

Well, I'm going to go study for my science test now. I hope everyone has a good night!
♥ Melanie
